
茅の輪くぐりとは
日々の生活の中で知らず知らずのうちに身についた罪や穢れを祓い清める。
- A large ring made of reed grass or kaya (茅)
- Worshippers walk through it in a figure-eight pattern (left → right → left), praying for good health and protection from misfortune
- To remove kegare (穢れ) — spiritual pollution or defilement
- To renew the self and return to a pure and harmonious state
- To prepare spiritually for the coming half-year
