Miyako Odori Performance and Gion Walking Tour in Kyoto

W034

Enjoy a classic Kyoto spring experience with Miyako Odori performance tickets included, followed by a relaxed walk through the historic streets of Gion.

This 2.5-hour tour lets you watch Miyako Odori, a famous seasonal dance performed by maiko and geiko (apprentice and professional geisha). “Miyako Odori” means “The dances of the old capital” and has been performed every spring for over 150 years.
After the performance, your guide will take you on an easy-paced walking tour of Gion. With simple, clear English, you’ll learn about maiko training, daily life, customs, and why this tradition still lives on in modern Kyoto.

This tour is ideal for visitors who want to see an authentic performance and understand its cultural background, without difficult explanations or long lectures.
This is a walking tour, and all transportation during the tour is on foot.
