Starting from your hotel, enjoy a refreshing walk through Tokyo’s greenery in the cooler hours of the day.
After 1.5 to 2 hours of strolling through the city, you'll visit museums, shopping areas, or other attractions of your choice.
HIGHLIGHT
You’ll visit the University of Tokyo, Japan’s most prestigious and competitive university.
The campus is located on the former estate of the Kaga Domain, one of the most powerful feudal lords in Japan, and features historical buildings and gardens dating back to the Edo period.
Next, head to nearby Ueno Park, where in summer, Shinobazu Pond is blanketed with blooming lotus flowers.
After your stroll, explore some of Japan’s top cultural institutions, such as the Tokyo National Museum and the National Museum of Nature and Science.
You can also enjoy shopping and local street food at Ueno’s Ameya Yokocho and visit the lively Asakusa district.

[Basic Course (90 minutes)]
1. Tour of the University of Tokyo
Japan’s most prestigious national university, the University of Tokyo is home to faculties in law, economics, engineering, science, agriculture, and medicine.
Many of Japan’s leaders in politics, business, and academia are graduates.
The 56-hectare campus was once the Edo-period estate of the Kaga Domain, Japan’s most powerful feudal domain with one million koku of rice.
Historical landmarks such as the Akamon Gate and traditional garden, built about 200 years ago, still remain and are valuable cultural assets in Tokyo.
Don’t miss Yasuda Auditorium, a symbol of Japan’s student movement, which now houses a charming café with a terrace.
2. Ueno Park
Japan’s first official park, Ueno Park covers a vast 530,000 square meters and features many cultural and natural highlights:
*Shinobazu Pond: In July and August, over 100,000 lotus flowers bloom. The lotus is a sacred flower in Buddhism.

3. Tokyo National Museum
Home to the largest collection of Japanese art in East Asia, including Buddhist sculptures, samurai swords, and painted folding screens. Open from 9:30 AM.
4. Ameya Yokocho (Ameyoko)
A bustling street market with over 400 shops selling everything from fresh seafood and snacks to clothing, cosmetics, and souvenirs.
As you walk through, enjoy sampling street food like takoyaki, grilled skewers, minced meat cutlets, and even Sicilian dishes.
5. Asakusa
Just a 6-minute subway ride from Ueno Station, Asakusa is one of Tokyo’s most iconic districts.
Visit Sensoji Temple, Tokyo’s oldest temple, and stroll through Nakamise Street, where shops selling traditional snacks, souvenirs, and crafts open between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
