Starting from your hotel, we’ll take a refreshing morning walk through the lush greenery of Meiji Shrine.
Afterwards, we’ll visit sights such as the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building Observatory, the Nezu Museum, and the Ota Ukiyo-e Museum.
HIGHLIGHT
Meiji Shrine covers an area of approximately 700,000 square meters and is home to about 100,000 trees.
Because of this lush greenery, the temperature here is said to be about 5°C lower than in the surrounding urban areas.
The shrine is filled with a serene and pure energy, and if you visit early in the morning, you can truly feel this atmosphere throughout your body.
From Meiji Shrine, you can visit the following nearby attractions:

1. About Meiji Shrine
In the late 19th century, Japan underwent a major transformation from the autocratic Tokugawa Shogunate to a constitutional state, and the class system was abolished.
This peaceful revolution was made possible in part by the Emperor’s authority being recognized above that of the Shogun.
Emperor Meiji played a central role in this transition, and Meiji Shrine is dedicated to honoring him and his wife, Empress Shoken.

2. Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building Observation Deck (Opens at 9:30 AM)
Located just under 1.4 kilometers from Meiji Shrine, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building offers panoramic views from a height of 202 meters.
On the way there, you'll pass notable landmarks such as the Riding Club, Park Tower, and Shinjuku Central Park.
3. Ota Memorial Museum of Art (Opens at 10:30 AM)
This museum is one of Japan’s foremost institutions specializing in ukiyo-e woodblock prints.
Its collection features works by renowned masters including Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Hiroshige, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, and Tsukioka Yoshitoshi.
4. Nezu Museum (Opens at 10:00 AM)
Located in Minami-Aoyama, the Nezu Museum houses a remarkable collection of ancient Japanese and East Asian art.
The museum also features a beautiful garden with traditional tea houses. It is approximately 1.6 kilometers from Meiji Shrine.
