WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Sake is Japan's most famous alcoholic beverage. Known around the world for its unique flavor, it is made by fermenting rice through a complex production process. Though now popular internationally as a stand-alone drink, it has been part of Japanese culture for over a thousand years, and it is deeply ingrained in Japanese religion and tradition.
Our sake tasting session is an introductory program on the culture, history, and cultivation of Japanese sake. During the session, our expert sake sommelier will explain a little about the history of sake, how sake is made, and the different sake varieties available.
Through the course of the session, you will also taste 3 different types of sake from our specially chosen collection: sparkling sake, ultra-premium daiginjo sake, and the “pure rice” sake known as junmai. These are served together with complementary Japanese dishes and snacks.
