Funaya are structures originally built to haul boats out of the sea and protect them from wind, rain, and insects. In the past, wooden boats were used for fishing, necessitating a place to dry them. While the first floor housed the boats, the second floor was once used for drying nets and storing fishing gear. The second-floor construction wasn't as sturdy as today's; it seems to have been a simple structure with just planks laid across.

Amanohashidate, facing the Sea of Japan in northern Kyoto Prefecture, is one of Japan's Three Scenic Views, alongside Matsushima in Mutsu and Miyajima in Aki.
This unique landscape features a sandbar approximately 20 to 170 meters wide and 3.6 kilometers long, densely covered with about 6,700 pine trees. It is a mysterious formation created by nature over thousands of years.
To enjoy Amanohashidate, the view from the observation deck is a must, but walking along the sandbar itself, cycling, taking a boat ride, or swimming at the beach are also popular ways to experience its natural beauty.

As a special exception to standard taxi regulations, government-certified guide-interpreters are permitted to provide tours by car.
At our company, only guide-interpreters with a proven record of safe driving are allowed to operate a vehicle during tours.

In the event of cancellation, the following fees will apply:
(1) 3-14 days prior to the program: 20% of the program fee
(2) 2 days prior to the program: 50% of the program fee
(3) One day before the program or on the day*: 100% of the program fee

*In the case of a no show, a separate remittance fee will be charged.
